Becoming Able-Hearted: Essential Skills of Loving
with Mariah Fenton Gladis, MSS, LCSW
Do you need or want to expand your feelings of and capacity for loving? Are you able to get your love across to those most important to you? Do you hold back or inhibit your expressions of love, verbally and/or physically?
In my practice I am struck over and over again with the tragic consequences of people's inability to generate, embody and express their love. Even with the best of intentions and genuine love, people are often plagued by the lack of skills to utilize and deliver their love.
In this workshop we will study together compelling literature on the subject of successful relationships. We will then have time for discussion and deliberation on the material followed by practice of the skills we studied.
There is perhaps no more important work you can do than to stretch and ever expand your capacity for creating fulfilled and sustainable relationships. This workshop is for individuals, men and women, or couples who want to further develop their capacity to create intimate connections with a present or future partner. Much of the work you will be doing in this workshop will be applicable to other relationships as well.
You will learn to:
- Increase your knowledge base of sustainable relationship skills
- Deepen your understanding of the dynamics of successful relating
- Exercise and develop your emotional skill set
- Practice these new skills in a safe environment
- Enliven and expand your self-expression
- Understand the importance of healthy sex and touch in lasting relationships
Successful relationships shine and inspire those around them. Let's achieve this together and do our parts in creating a more loving world.
This special group series also offers significant educational value for professionals who are involved with human development. The atmosphere will be one of trust and mutual support.
